March 2020 Monthly Meeting Flyer

This month’s Chapter meeting will be held at The Saltgrass Streak House Saturday March 21st at 11 AM.

Guest Speaker: Todd Clayton

Revolutionary America stands up to the Goliath of the sea and raids the English coast. It’s a good thing America won the Revolutionary War, as our seagoing patriots would otherwise have been tried as pirates (including Ben Franklin and John Paul Jones). After winning the war it’s obvious America now had to develop a real Navy to protect our shipping interests, especially to counter the Barbary Pirates.

Todd Clayton was in the US Navy as an officer qualified in nuclear powered submarines. He has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. He has 30 years of executive marketing experience in the high-tech industry in computers and communications.

He and his wife Patti were in the Peace Corps from 2002—2004. They both taught English at two universities in Kazakhstan; additionally, Todd taught entrepreneurship.

Todd lectures at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Texas. He has created nine six-week courses on various maritime history subjects.
